We are pursuing consumer products and associated promotion because we believe it will drive meaningful show awareness/buzz with more tangible, curated ways to interact with our most popular content and in effect, drive long term value. We want merchandise, interactive games, and experiences to help promote our titles and build them into title brands, or franchises, so they become part of the zeitgeist for longer periods of time.

We are looking for a Licensing Specialist for softlines who will contribute to building the Preschool, Kids and Family business. The individual will be a dynamic professional with an artistic eye for trends and who strives to break out of the traditional mold of licensing and seeks partnerships that create conversations. They will have an insatiable desire to reinvent licensing in softlines to stand out in a challenging retail landscape.

The Licensing Specialist will collaborate with the Licensing Manager to develop an end-to-end strategy and execution for merchandising and promotion of the Netflix brand and/or content across the UCAN region (US and Canada). They may contribute to the EMEA and APAC business on an ad hoc basis alongside our internal licensing agency. The Licensing Specialist will work closely with local cross-functional teams, with the overall goal of ensuring that Netflix consumer products are an extension of title brand campaigns and delivering on our promise to deliver fan joy.

Key responsibilities:
• In partnership with the Licensing Manager, spearhead licensing of our content across the softlines categories (eg. apparel, accessories, footwear, bedding/home decor, etc) including owning of the relationship with licensees - identify partners, negotiate deals, ongoing management of the relationship including quality, distribution, sales performance, etc.
• Be an internal and external category champion of the opportunity, vision, pitch and message with regards to our licensing strategy.
• Take a 'talent friendly' approach to licensing and ensure appropriate internal stakeholders are involved in key decision-making.
• Be informed of the priorities and complexities of cross-functional teams (e.g. content, marketing, publicity, PR, social, etc.) and understand how consumer products benefits and supports other teams' work.

What we need from you:
• Demonstrated, 5+ years of experience in outbound licensing function with fashion
• Experience working with reputable brands (CPG, fashion/lifestyle, studio, gaming, agency)
• Bachelor's, advanced degree or comparable work experience
• Capable of working with and onboarding partners who are new to brand collaborations and licensing.
• Strong knowledge of the licensing landscape and value chain from ideation around IP through to delivery and consumer experience
• Possess contacts and network of key stakeholders across the licensing landscape
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% for partner meetings and trade shows
• Deep engagement competency and ability to work with multiple, disparate stakeholders to achieve the best outcome for Netflix. You can read more about our company culture here
