Role Details:

As a Statistical Analyst & Data Operator you will help synthesize sports data and statistics to help produce a premium service spotlighting the latest insights and updates generated by our predictive data and statistics team. You will be trained to operate our proprietary projection and sports simulation software that powers predictive content on CBSSports.com, sports betting data for SportsLine and projections for our Fantasy Sports platform.

In addition to producing premium data you will analyze sports from a betting and fantasy perspective and help power our new CBS Sports Statistics & Information service.

You need to have knowledge and passion for all major sports, statistics, players and teams. You must be comfortable working with statistical analytics software. You will also be expected to work ''sports media hours'' which can include evenings and weekends.

Your Day-to-Day:
• Work with other analysts to craft game, team and player specific notes and publish in a timely fashion
• Review statistics (actual,projected) and identify what needs to be reported
• Produce original analysis for all CBSSports properties
• Monitor all league news and update computer projections accordingly

QUALIFICATIONS:

What you bring to the team:

You have -
• While in-depth training will be provided, candidates need a strong understanding of how stats are used to make predictions and projections in all major sports and how invested fans (gamblers, fantasy) make decisions.
• Expertise in international soccer, golf, and tennis is a plus
• Bachelor's degree with a passion for sports; A degree in a quantitative field or journalism is preferred (Sports writing samples)
• Avid season long fantasy sports player in multiple sports (NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB) and in Daily Fantasy (FanDuel, DraftKings)
• Working knowledge of sports betting and handicapping statistics and terminology
• Ability to work flexible hours and respond to breaking news and live game action
