Role Details:

Working on the CBSN engineering team, the candidate will be responsible for writing and maintaining production front-end code for a high-volume, high-traffic end-user facing website in collaboration with Product, Design, Marketing, QA, Operations and Editorial teams.

This position requires a high degree of technical knowledge in frontend development as well communication skills along with good organization and collaboration abilities.

Your Day-to-Day:

This intern will be a full member of the agile team and will take part in all regular meetings and plannings. This intern will work both independently and together with the other teammates on assigned tasks and projects that will fit their skills and abilities.

• This is a paid internship and can also be for university credit if it meets your university's guidelines

QUALIFICATIONS:

What you bring to the team:

You have -
• Good fundamentals in all aspects of the frontend stack
• Vanilla JS and Frameworks like Vue and riot.js, with a little jQuery mixed in
• Cutting edge Web APIs (such as Service Workers with push notifications)
• CSS (we use SCSS for structure, and Flex Grid for positions).
• At least some exposure to PHP and GIT
• Basic understanding of agile development methodologies
• Intern must be a student currently enrolled in an accredited college, university or bootcamp
• Must be at least 18 years old

You might also have -
• Some experience with AWS, Docker, Jenkins or other CI Workflows
• Familiarity with the creation and usage of HTTP APIs and the JSON format
• Understanding of Test Automation and Test Driven Development
