Chief Meteorologist

Job Description

WPEC in West Palm Beach, Florida is in the center of the bullseye during Hurricane Season and we need a Chief Meteorologist who is an expert at predicting and explaining severe tropical weather. A team builder who can get our talented group of meteorologists to the next level on all platforms and lead by example.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Evening/Nightside airshift M-F
• Recording forecasts for radio partners
• Field Reporting in case of major weather story
• Multiplatform content including daily wx story, social posts and refining of overall digital strategy
• Update and maintain severe weather plan
• Provide supervision and feedback for Weather Team, including scheduling
• Help produce annual Hurricane Guide and Special Weather Programming/Coverage
• Public appearances
