Responsibilities
The Sr. Director, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, NBCU News Group develops initiatives and executes programming aligned with our goals to recruit, retain and develop diverse employees. This will be a senior leader who can drive systemic and sustainable change across the business and promote a culture of inclusion and diversity as a top priority for CNBC. The successful candidate will know the News business and quickly gain trust and credibility amongst the entire organization. This position will report to the NBCU News Group SVP Diversity, Equity and Inclusion as well the Chairman, CNBC.

What you'll do:
• Lead the CNBC Diversity Task force and partner with them, The Chairman, and HR to develop a comprehensive strategy for the organization, focused on data analytics to meet workforce goals, employee engagement and retention and content strategy. This individual will also be a member of the NBCU News Group DEI team and collaborate across the organization along with the Corporate Diversity and Inclusion organization for best practice sharing.
• Active member of Englewood Cliffs Employee Resource Group leadership council. Provide advice and counsel to ERG's and their Executive Sponsors.
• Partner with CNBC's Chairman, SVP Global HR, and News Group SVP Diversity to develop key metrics and report out on a quarterly basis.
• Provide advice to executive leadership team to enhance programs and initiatives and accelerate the evolution of CNBC.
• Drive timely completion of projects based on strategic priorities
• Contributes ideas and assists HR to create employee development opportunities.
• Proactively source and build relationships for a pipeline of top diverse talent
• Partner with CNBC Pipeline Program Specialist to recruit top talent into pipeline programs, including interns, and create the best experience and hiring post programs
• Form a collaborative approach to executing the D & I footprint at conferences and conventions.
• As directed by SVP, DEI NBCU News Group, collaborate with our external partners at major journalism organizations including NABJ, AAJA, NAHJ, and NLGJA. Continue growing and evolving the relationships with organizational leaders to ensure the partnerships align with NBC News goals. Partner with Editorial team to execute on-site activation, coordination, setup and presentations at assigned conferences and conventions.
• Develop and lead community partnership with external non-profit organization(s) to promote financial literacy in underserved communities.

Qualifications/Requirements
What you'll bring:
• Minimum of 7 years of leadership experience in complex organizations
• Extensive experience in influencing organizational change
• A demonstrated passion for progressing diversity and inclusion
• Ability to articulate vision and direction, communicate effectively and manage and measure performance and accountability.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Strong ability to develop relationships with external and internal stakeholders

Desired Characteristics

You'll stand out if:
• Strong knowledge of News operations. Business News
experience is a huge plus.
• Experience in a news editorial environment
• Proven collaboration skills
• Ability to leverage data and analytics to drive decision making
• Impeccable execution and project management skills
