WHAM has an immediate opening for a full-time News Operations Manager! The News Operations Manager will supervise and direct assignment editors, news photographers, video editors and production personnel including directors, control room and studio crews. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO :
• Supervise assignment editors to ensure comprehensive planning of daily editorial meetings
• Coordinate special events' logistical and technical planning including town halls, elections and special reports
• Ensure daily coverage Planner in iNews is updated to reflect coverage needs as well as story follow ups
• Work cross-departmentally in scheduling personnel for News, Production and Engineering to meet daily and special coverage needs
• Oversee assignment desk personnel and production staff
• Coordinate major breaking news coverage by interacting with all departments in quickly allocating people and equipment to facilitate multi-platform coverage
• Work with news director and chief photographer in purchasing necessary equipment and supplies
• Work with chief photographer to ensure vehicle fleet is maintained
• Work with executive producers in shaping coverage to reflect relevant stories
• Working knowledge of various news related systems including AVID, iNews, Zoom, Skype, Masstech, LiveU, Pacer, etc.
• Process archive and subpoena video requests as well as managing the archives.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Five years broadcast experience and a college degree preferred
• Knowledge of broadcast journalism ethics and legal standards
• Knowledge of ENG, SNG, LiveU and other technical systems relevant to the position
• Ability to work well with others fostering a culture of creativity, positive can-do attitudes, and mutual respect
• Valid driver license
• Must be able to lift 5-10 lbs
• Hours: Must be available to work all shifts as needed including evenings, early mornings, overnights, weekends, and holidays
