Sr. Backend Engineer

Job Description

Entercom is looking for an innovative, result-oriented and passionate Senior Backend Engineer to work with our product and operations teams to build out backend applications and services. The candidate will contribute to the software including our APIs, back-end infrastructure and core systems and services supporting all customer facing platforms, including the mobile app, auto integrations, voice devices and OTT apps.

Responsibilities
• Deliver results on complex projects involving multiple teams across the company
• Assist with design and definition of business and system level services, APIs, and cross-platform user experiences using modern design principles and patterns
• Develop APIs and back-end systems powering our mobile, web and OTT apps, as well as APIs consumed by third-party developers
• Help to provide an accurate timeline and scoping estimations on engineering projects
• Exercise leadership in project architecture & code quality
• Follow coding best-practices and provide feedback on pull-requests
• Mentor junior engineers
• Follow agile/continuous integration engineering best practices

Qualifications:
• 5 Years of experience writing high traffic websites/applications
• Experience writing NodeJS applications and Serverless technologies
• Strong experience with Relational Databases (MySQL/Postgres preferred) and understanding of ORMs.
• Data and domain modeling skills is a plus
• Strong understanding of modern design patterns, such as microservices and API-led architecture
• Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, or other modern DevOps tools
• Experience with building multi-tenant, best-practices SaaS products
• Strong knowledge of Git or other VCS
• Strong understanding of RESTful API patterns and best practices
• BA/BS in Computer Science preferred
