Job Description

Amazon Studios Europe is looking for a new Head of Spanish Originals to report in to the Head of EU Originals. This executive will be responsible for overseeing the ongoing growth of Amazon PV in Spain, working hand in hand with the Head of EU originals to further our ambitions in the territory and compete in the Spanish content market. The ideal candidate is a both a strong creative and invested leader with the proven ability to manage teams across all genres, solving day to day production problems as well as supporting bigger strategic and regulatory issues relevant to the territory.

The successful candidate will be a proven leader who thrives under pressure, and is excited by the challenge of raising the bar for our customers in Spain and help driving growth, engagement and awareness of PV. They can demonstrate creative and business acumen that has been tested across a variety of creative and business contexts. They will have an entrepreneurial spirit, with extensive experience in building, inspiring and managing a fast-paced content team across development and production, creating a culture of innovation and thinking big. They will be quick minded and have the ability to pivot when required. They will become a strategic partner to the PV Acquisitions team in supporting the originals team to operate and deliver against goals. The candidate will work with the head of EU originals to prioritize short- and long-term editorial and planning decisions, with the ability to successfully bring the originals vision to fruition, whilst earning the trust of senior Amazon PV and studios stakeholders in the EU and LA. With limited resource, they will identify where to allocate resource within the team in order to execute against deadlines and goals. They need to be able to stay ahead of competitive trends and find new ways of generating bar raising content initiatives, which drives PV growth and awareness.

The ideal candidate must be an outstanding manager who has a track record of building relationships across departments with key stakeholders to instigate efficient work flows and influential discussions. Experience and a deep-rooted understanding from a business perspective of the television industry, including research, marketing, operations, business affairs, legal, finance, local regulation is a must. As the face of Originals in Spain, they will have a persuasive, clear and professional verbal and written communication style, with the ability to own strategic documents and oversee the most complex of business and creative negotiations internally and externally. They must be a big thinker, with the confidence to both defend opinions and collaborate in a highly pressured environment, with the ability to problems solve on a daily basis without supervision and manage the ambiguity that the current climate encourages.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree and/or graduate degree or applicable experience
• Multiple years at senior management level within television
• A proven track record for driving high performance teams and growth within a world class content company
• Extensive working knowledge of the Spanish media landscape
• Proven ability to operate in a highly competitive environment with
• Excellent communication and writing skills
• Fluent in English and Spanish

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Qualifications
• Extensive experience managing television development and production
• A track record of increasing and sustaining viewership within the linear / SVOD landscape
• Experience at setting and delivering against departmental strategy and goals
• Familiarity with SVOD or OTT video services
