Job Description

Entercom Rochester is seeking a talented and energetic individual to serve as a Broadcast Engineer for our five terrestrial radio stations. Responsibilities include working with Chief Engineer and IT Manager in support of the studio equipment, four transmitter sites, our leading audio platforms (RADIO.COM), and assisting in live remote broadcasts and major event setup. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Include the Following:
• Broadcast Engineer will work with Chief Engineer and IT Manager in support of the Studio equipment and four transmitter sites
• Maintain integrity of on-air product for 100% reliability 24/7
• With training having the ability to inspect, repair, and maintain all broadcast radio station equipment, including FM, HD and AM transmitters, antennas, satellite down/up-links, automation system, studio equipment, remote equipment, generators, telephone system and other related equipment
• Assist with IT support to all staff
• With training set up and maintenance of live remote broadcasts and major events
• Day to day building maintenance support
• Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed

Qualifications:

Required:
• At least two years of electrical or electronics training and/or experience
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair electronics at the component level
• Fair understanding of IT and Networking
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, climb ladders, grasp objects and work in a physically active setting
• With training must be available to rotate on-call 24/7
on-site support for studio and transmitter locations with Chief Engineer
• Availability to work various hours/ days, including overnight, occasional weekends and holidays during emergency repairs
• A valid driver's license, insurance and a personal vehicle

Preferred:
• Familiarity with safe practices with high voltage and RF safety
• Strong time management skills including the ability to multi-task in a multiple project environment
• Knowledge of Wide Orbit Automation system
• Knowledge
of Wheatstone Analog Console and Wheatnet routing systems
• Knowledge of standby generators, satellite downlink facilities and receivers
• Strong verbal and writing communication skills
• Ability to travel to other Entercom Markets for support and large project assistance (on a volunteer basis, up to five to ten days a year)
