Data Scientist Intern

San Mateo, CA

Responsibilities:

As an intern in the data science team in DSO (Data Strategy & Operations), you will work on projects related to applying data science tools and methods to SIE customer data.
• Building models to predict customer behaviors
• Customer segmentation
• Building data pipelines for feature engineering
• Communicating the output from data science work with partners across SIE

Qualifications:
• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree or PhD in Data Science/Computer Science (or related field), and/or within 1 year of their post-graduation date
• Knowledge of data science methods, for example supervised and unsupervised machine learning, time-series forecasting, natural language processing
• Able to code in Python and apply common Python libraries for data science, e.g. sci-kit learn
• Able to query data in SQL
• Strong mathematical skills
• Highly motivated with outstanding verbal and written communication skills and be able to work with both technical and non-technical partners
