Job Description

WGN America is looking for Per Diem Zone Managers to work directly with 110 Nexstar stations to find compelling content that will be used on News Nation, a 3-hour prime time broadcast. The position is based in Chicago, Illinois.

The successful candidate will have:
-Excellent news judgment
-Good communication skills
-The ability to build a story, develop new details and work with the newsroom to ensure comprehensive coverage
-Strong writing skills and desktop editing skills
-Experience in handling a busy, fast-paced environment, and excel at breaking news coverage.

Applicants should have an undergraduate college degree in communications, journalism or related field; possess strong knowledge of the national news scene; 3-5 years newsroom experience is a must.
