Division Overview:

The News Site Strategy team is seeking a Director to join our growing team focused on CBS News Digital. Site Strategy is a part of the larger ViacomCBS Digital Integrated Marketing team that oversees advertising solutions for the CBS portfolio of premium brands. Site Strategy's focus is to proactively position our business units in the marketplace, identify and build revenue-driving packages/programs, execute sold sponsorships and keep an overall pulse on ad sales revenue for each business unit.

Role Details:

CBS News Digital is seeking an experienced, driven, solutions-oriented, motivating leader to join Site Strategy. The Director will drive revenue by proactively positioning CBS News Digital at a pivotal time for the business, develop and manage best-in-class sponsorship programs, empower and educate Sales and clients, and continually evolve our offerings in response to changing marketplace needs. The position focuses on the 24/7 digital news destination, CBSN, as well as CBSNews.com. This strategic thinker, hardworking team player and experienced Integrated Marketing leader will play an integral role in driving the News business forward. S/he will help manage an Integrated Marketing team, liaise with Sales to understand client needs, focus on key renewals and develop solutions by collaborating with editorial/business unit partners. The ideal candidate will be passionate about news, possess superior interpersonal, analytical and writing skills, along with a rock-solid work ethic and solutions-oriented mindset, and thrive working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Your Day-to-Day:
• Grow the CBS News Digital business by proactively positioning it and its assets externally, understanding and leveraging internal and external resources to overcome hurdles/potential objections
• Provide regular reporting on the state of the CBS News Digital business, working with Yield, Finance and Sales Management to compile
• Work hand-in-hand with our business unit partners in Editorial, Business Intelligence, Product and our General Manager to create innovative, dynamic, industry-leading sponsorship opportunities
• Collaborate with our Client Solutions team and Sales to deliver impeccable responses to inbound interest and proactively drive new business
• Manage team overseeing the execution and tracking of sold campaigns, making sure all run and pace flawlessly from launch to completion

Key Projects:
• Create and socialize positioning materials that show CBSN's and CBS News Digital's competitive advantage as a facts-first, brand-safe, cutting-edge news platform, including General Presentation, one-sheets and sizzles
• Drive revenue by proactively developing and delivering best-in-class marketing solutions designed to meet client needs across categories and galvanize Sales accordingly
• Manage relationships with the business unit team to bring value to all constituents, including working with Business Intelligence other research teams/resources to apply data and insights to creative opportunities
• Serve as a key point of contact for the Sales team on all things News, collaborating on key renewals and directional help on tentpoles
• Represent CBS News Digital internally, as part of the broader CBSi portfolio, and externally in the marketplace with clients and agencies
• Manage execution of post-sale process to showcase program results through case studies and wrap reports and work with Client Solutions and Sales to refine and enhance concepts to drive renewals - working to gather recap elements from Business Intelligence, Social, Ad Innovations and more
• Manage, lead and mentor 1-2 team members whose purview includes post-sale execution and reporting, multiplatform (linear + digital) deals, branded content, pre-sale package development and management of in-bound presale interest

QUALIFICATIONS:

What you bring to the team:

You have -
• Minimum 10 years of experience in digital ad sales marketing across video, display, mobile and social - preferably within the TV industry/for a related publisher brand, or at an ad agency or digital company with ad-supported revenue
• Proven track record in leading/managing/motivating a team and driving positive culture across an org
• Strong affinity/passion for News Self-motivation, a solutions-oriented mindset and a positive attitude with an extreme attention to detail Showcased effectiveness in leveraging strong interpersonal skills across cross-functional teams, building productive relationships across the business and all levels of management
• Excellent PowerPoint and data analysis skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills - capacity to communicate complex concepts clearly and simply
• Comfort with a fast-paced environment and changing business priorities
• Strong project management skills, able to implement multiple projects simultaneously within time and budget constraints
