Compulse Integrated Marketing, the award-winning creative arm of Sinclair Broadcast Group, is looking for a passionate and talented web designer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. A candidate with a ''can-do'' attitude will thrive at this position, which offers the opportunity to add to their design portfolio a multitude of sites created for a growing and diverse client base. The candidate should be experienced in delivering on-point designs with a strong emphasis on quality to a wide range of different clientele. The overall aesthetics of produced designs should be engaging, attract and sell for the objectives and goals of our clients. The candidate should also be able to remain flexible to switch between a multitude of projects on an as needed basis. Responsibilities:
• Strategize design with clients and peers to clarify goals and understand functionality

• Partner with project managers to build project schedules and consistently meet established deadlines

• Create website mockups that illustrate functionality and include all contractually required elements

• Effectively hand-off designs to the development team for implementation

• Ability to pivot and stay on top of a variety of projects with strong organizational skills

• Troubleshoot and resolve design issues

• Train clients and departmental employees on approved systems

• Archive all assets at the end of each project

• Design and assemble email marketing templates with provided assets

• Work on contests and sweepstakes, follow directions, and consistently meet established deadlines defined by legal guidelines

• Ability to think creatively and design appealing assets within our standard contesting templates

• Ability to work within our approved contest platforms and work within contracts

Essentials
• High level of proficiency with either Adobe CC or Sketch

• Strong typographic, compositional and UI/UX skills

• Working knowledge of semantic HTML and CSS

• Experience working with CMS, preferably WordPress 5.0 and up

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Exceptional attention to detail

• Able to take direction and run with it

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Self-motivated, creative and open to new ideas and techniques

• Ability to work independent or in conjunction with a team

• Always seeking to improve; even if it means challenging the status quo

Nice to Have:
• Capability to convert any design to a WordPress theme

• Working knowledge of the ''WordPress Loop''

• Experience using a CSS framework such as Bootstrap 4

• Working knowledge of PHP 7.1+ and CSS extensions such as SASS or SCSS

• Working knowledge of email-friendly HTML

• Working knowledge of effective SEO tactics

• Working knowledge of web accessibility standards

• Comfortable working with Visual Studio Code or Atom

• Experience using version control such as GIT

• Experience using command-line interfaces such as bash or zsh

• Agency experience is a plus
