Job Description

Sinclair is seeking a Director / Senior Manager, Human Resources for its Regional Sports Networks (''RSN''). This role will provide general HR support to the RSN corporate office in Los Angeles, CA and across 9 regional sports networks to /General Managers and their respective staffs. There will be specific RSNs that this role will take lead HR support across all Human Resource related disciplines including but not limited to Employee Relations (which could include assets covered by collective bargaining agreements), Training and Development, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Benefits and HRIS. This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Human Resources for the Regional Sports Networks.

Responsibilities:
• Partnering with RSN management, including RSN HR functions, and Sinclair resources, provide guidance, counsel and / or assistance to the assigned RSN clients. When appropriate, will escalate employee relations matters, employee counseling, day-day HR issues, talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, training and development; consult with legal when appropriate to address client issues;
• Manage a team of three RSN Human Resources roles, including but not limited to an HR Generalist, Recruiter and HR Coordinator (or like titles). This includes performance management and development of these assets.
• Function as the initial contact for various inquiries regarding HR policies & processes, data requests from clients, updates to records, employee dilemmas related to HR systems / processes, and basic employee leave information;
• Work closely across functional Sinclair and RSN HR team to ensure effective coordination and timely service delivery of all HR related services;
• Provide counsel to management and employees regarding career progression, skills enhancement and development, employee performance management and improvement
• Review company policies, procedures, benefits etc. with new hires. May be required to collect paperwork and complete new hire forms to be entered into the HRIS system.
• Oversee if not conduct exit interviews and inform departing employee of COBRA, unemployment insurance (if applicable) as well as distribute final pay, answer questions and collect company property.
• Analyze detailed exit information for analyzing turnover and recommendations to management;
• Participates in special projects as requested by RSN Management and/or Sinclair Broadcasting Group.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources / Industrial Relations or associated field. HR certification is preferred;
• 10 years of experience in Human Resources, at least 5 of which in an HR Management capacity. The HR experience should be as an HR Manager, HR Generalist and / or Employee Relations Specialist. Ideal Human Resources experience would be within a large matrixed organization or for multi-site operations. Preferable industries include sports cable/broadcasting, live television production and multisite retail including food service).
• As mentioned above, 5 years of experience and knowledge handling Employee Relations issues required, including experience with investigations, managing highly confidential matters, employee counseling, and engagement of Legal department; experience within unionized environment would be beneficial;
• Strong preference in Labor Relations as part of this experience is highly preferred.
• Experience in applying compensation principles as related to new hires or internal promotions and transfers.
• Must demonstrate a high level of detail orientation and ability to organize and prioritize while successfully managing time constraints;
• Experience in conducting training sessions on topics such as effective documentation, performance improvement, effective communication and other Human Resources related topics.
• Experience handling multiple tasks simultaneously with the ability to make decisions independently;
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal; must have the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully at all levels;
• Exceptional collaboration skills and the ability to maintain strong relationships with HR team and all levels of staff.
• Knowledge of HRIS systems as well as a working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (e.g. MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
• This role requires a flexible schedule with the ability to work long hours.
• Although based in Los Angeles, CA, this role may require travel and availability during weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of and enthusiasm for Sports is a plus.
