FT Television News/Feature Segment Producer

KTXL FOX40 in Sacramento, California is looking for its next news guest booker/producer to join our team and take our 5.5 hour morning show to the next level. The successful candidate should do what it takes to consistently produce segments and book guests that stand out. You should know how to ''produce up'' a segment and write vos/vosots/packages. You should also live and breathe social media.

We're seeking someone with 4+ years of news producing and/or segment producing experience. A Bachelor's degree in a related field, and a valid driver's license are required.

Responsibilities
• Be creative and create compelling
• Find, book and prepare guests for AM live segments in studio and in the field.
• Maintain working knowledge of current events, community issues, and local contacts
• Search wire services, network feeds, websites and social media to find relevant material or ideas.
• Collaborate with other producers for segments/guests/special reports and special event coverage.
• Act as leader in facilitating teamwork of staff members
• Work with directors and anchors/reporters on presentation of stories
• Clear, concise, conversational writing skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Demonstrate solid news judgment
• Maintain strong journalistic ethics
• Strong initiative and attention to detail
• Research and brainstorm story ideas, present ideas in AM editorial meetings
• Generate promotable story ideas daily
• Communicate with the staff on content set to be featured on all platforms
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned
• Write news stories
