Job Description
The Station Manager is responsible for programming content, delivery, format and schedule and will assure compliance with FCC rules, regulations and policies.
• Complete television network Weekly affidavit
• Schedule local weekend programming
• Compile weekly Advance Program Schedules
• Review Interruption reports (Hub and News) & address programming issues
• Provide paid avails to sales assistant
• Update sales programming one-sheet grids
• Maintains Public File
• Files FCC Quarterly Reports
• Coordinate production and traffic to update public file on air announcements regarding children's programming changes and reporting
• Manage syndicated programming
• Check daily CC email daily and address accordingly.
• Track and schedule all movies, regional sports and specials
• Compile sports schedules and distribute to sales, traffic, master control hub and production
• Handle viewer phone calls and emails
• Ensure stations are compliant with all FCC Guidelines
• Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements & Skills:
• 7+ years experience in content development and production, original journalism, programming and broadcast operations
• Extensive knowledge of FCC broadcast rules and regulations; knowledge of all applicable federal, state and local rules and regulations
• A successful track record of leading, building, mobilizing and managing creative teams
• Detail-oriented, highly organized, and accurate and able to meet tight deadlines
• Superior oral and written communication skills, with the ability to adjust communications style based on audience needs
