Fall 2020 Virtual Intern – CNN Investigative Unit

The CNN Story

The Team
The investigative team of CNN produces investigative pieces in partnership with various CNN shows including Anderson Cooper 360. They provide in-depth reporting on current affairs and investigative topics by utilizing strong production values combined with long-form storytelling.

The Job
CNN Investigative Unit Intern

The Daily
• Interns have the opportunity to participate in every aspect of television production: from pitching story ideas, to setting up shoots, gathering editorial and video materials from the script writing process through edit.
• Interns shadow and assist editorial staff.
• Basic duties include: gathering and dubbing video, transcribing tape, organizing visual elements, basic story research and fact-checking.
• Interns will also have the opportunity to assist edit staff with package producing.

The Fall 2020 program dates are October 5th through December 4th. The internship will be a full remote/virtual experience. Most internships will provide a company owned laptop for the duration of the internship program. Interns are paid a competitive wage based on team/bureau location and relocation is not provided as the program is fully remote/virtual. Participation in the internship program is reserved for students who are currently enrolled in college or within 6 months post-graduation. Most positions are targeted to upperclassmen and graduate students.
