Position

We are currently looking for an Audio Engineer to join our busy department.

The Audio Engineer is responsible for the successful delivery of audio mixes/files/elements that meet the needs and specifications of the client as well as, Music & Effects dubbing package prequalification, generating prequalification reports, technical quality control of cloud dubbing sessions, ProTools dubbing package and mix session preparation and conformance.

The Audio Engineer will also perform loudness conformance and bounce deliverable outputs for audio mixes, assist the dubbing team with asset research in relation to audio quality and content, and assist the Audio Video QC team with final deliverable QC.

This position will work closely with the Post Production, Quality Control, and Dubbing teams to ensure high quality efficient dubbing.

This role will require continual learning of new and modified specifications from title to title and client to client.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Record, edit, and mix 2.0, as well as 5.1 and 7.1 surround formats for film and television with emphasis on near field/home theater mixing.
• Mix for both secondary language ADR lip-sync and voice-over style dubbing.
• Edit and restore dialogue audio to remove unwanted noise and irregularities and ensure sync.
• Conform audio to alternate and revised program versions.
• Understand and deliver files to meet various broadcast and digital industry program loudness specifications such as EBU R128, ATSC A/85, and ITU-R BS.1770-1/2/3/4.
• Perform audio frame rate conversions for video sub-masters.
• Encode to various Dolby and DTS formats.
• Maintain organized project files and assets to facilitate project hand-offs and ensure viable archives.
• Provide archival assets including dialogue stems, print masters, and mix sessions when required.
• Perform with a high level of professionalism.
• Theatrical mixing experience a plus.
• Dolby Atmos experience for home mixes or theatrical a plus.
• Partner closely with Post-Production department and dubbing project coordinators to ensure all audio deliverables satisfy client requirements and deliver on time.
• Must be willing to learn new audio editing software/systems.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience

2+ years related experience.

Requirements
• Must be an excellent verbal and written communicator in English. Other languages a plus.
• Knowledge and experience in the following packages
• Mac and Windows OS
• Avid ProTools
• Adobe Audition
• QuickTime Pro
• Video NLE's a plus (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, etc.)
• Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Visual and Audio acuity required to recognize issues in video and audio masters.
• Experience working with ProTools Mix and Edit bays as well as A/V QC bays for critical content review.
