In this role, you will partner across multiple organizations to set technical vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmaps that affect multiple products and have a significant impact on YouTube's businesses or overall strategy. You will partner with engineering, product, and software teams across organizations to drive and land initiatives across YouTube that deliver improvements to reliability, performance, and resilience at scale.

You will also guide your teams through the delivery of innovative solutions that proactively reduce reliability risk and maximize opportunities for your areas. You will also manage teams or leaders and develop very executive talent and team lead positions within SRE. In this role, you will serve as the recognized leader across partner organizations for reliability, scalability, performance, and resilience with the deep knowledge and experience needed to represent the organization strategy within and beyond multiple business areas. You will engage in community contributions to improve and sustain our culture and operations, making Google a better place to work.

Resonsibilities:
• Set the strategy for overall SRE/Development alignment.
• Partner with YouTube engineering, product, and software teams to steer product roadmaps and ensure reliability is insured. Provide technical leadership development and recruitment inside the organization.
• Foster, grow, and adopt innovative technical solutions that solve requirements for our users and enable high execution. Advocate for the efficient, reliable, and easy use of YouTube.
• Identify, prioritize, and staff horizontals and infrastructure changes impacting the organization.
• Create an inclusive and diverse environment where everyone can be successful and can contribute at a high level.

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• 15 years of experience with system design, algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis, and software design.
• Experience building and growing teams.
• Experience managing geographically distributed teams of software engineers.

Preferred qualifications:
• Advanced degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
• Experience building and leading technical teams of software engineers on customer facing products.
• Experience developing distributed streaming video applications, and expertise in Unix/Linux systems, IP networking, performance, and application issues.
• Ability to do technical deep-dives into code, networking, operating systems and storage, and verbally and cognitively agile enough to hold your own in a strategy discussion with Google's executive team.
• Ability to identify trends and promote solutions that solve challenges efficiently across multiple product areas.
• Excellent innovative thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
