Job Description
Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. Working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to take on big picture challenges.

As someone who knows the workings of the core Finance team inside and out, you'll lead individual projects to transform planning, tracking and control processes. You'll provide senior level management with insightful recommendations, planning and reporting support.

The YouTube Finance team seeks to make YouTube commercially sustainable and more valuable, by identifying and steering the business towards the biggest opportunities, guiding the organization to make the best possible decisions, and enabling effective implementation and operations.

Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. You will be focused on the details while finding creative ways to solve big picture problems.

In this role, your will focus is on holistic optimization across YouTube's non-payroll operational expenditure, marketing and content acquisition cost (CAC) budgets. You will collaborate with partners across YouTube's finance team and with stakeholders within the business team to rightsize our spending footprint both in-year and also as it relates to our 5-year long-term profitability outlook. Playing a key role in our annual planning process, you will leverage both an analytical toolkit and robust stakeholder management to prepare the budget recommendations each year.

And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

• Lead the annual planning process to provide initial guidance to teams, oversee review of bottom's-up asks, and propose the shape of investment across YouTube teams.
• Develop new and iterate on existing frameworks for how we fund the business in both the short and long-term.
• Collaborate with leaders across YouTube to run the in-year budget scrubbing process, identifying areas for clawback, and redeployment as needed.
• Own the 5-year cost curve for the long-term profit and loss (P&L) model and present this bi-annually to senior leadership.
• Directly support the planning and tracking of the YouTube Chief Executive Officer (CEO) office's budget, which also includes management of the YouTube reserve throughout the year.


Minimum qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 4 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A) consulting.

Preferred qualifications:
• Experience in spend management and budget planning cycles.
• Experience with regularly presenting to senior management.
• Ability to set objectives and drive to results while building long-term relationships across organizational boundaries.
• Ability to take initiative and deal with ambiguity in a constantly evolving environment.
• Exceptional communication skills.
