As an Associate Product Counsel for YouTube, you will counsel on compliance with a range of US and international laws governing privacy, youth, and new content regulations. You will also be responsible for maintaining strategic relationships across the organization and managing escalations with executive-level clients and cross-functional teams.

Additional Information
(Colorado only*) Minimum full-time salary range between $214,000 - $230,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
*Note: Disclosure as required by sb19-085 (8-5-20) of the minimum salary compensation range for this role when being hired into our offices in Colorado.
Resonsibilities:
• Provide legal advice to Engineering, Product Management, Trust and Safety, and cross-functional teams globally from the initial stages of innovative product development to launch.
• Ensure compliance with global laws including privacy, youth, content regulation, copyright, and consumer protection.
• Develop and maintain a repository of legal resources that are required for products (e.g., terms of service, privacy notices, and other disclosures).
• Respond promptly to a wide range of legal requests from Engineering, Product Management, Advertising Sales, Marketing, Communications, and other business groups.
Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications:
• J.D. or equivalent degree.
• 3 years of experience at an attorney level.
• Experience in media, communications, intellectual property, privacy, and contract law.
• Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g. have registered in-house status) in the state of hire.
Preferred qualifications:
• 5 years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department.
• Experience with privacy, youth, content regulations, and regulatory investigations.
• Ability to counsel in abstract or novel areas of the law.
• Ability to work collaboratively, cohesively, strategically, and with sound judgment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
