Job Summary/Description:

WVVA Television, Inc. in Bluefield, WV is looking for a hard-working Digital Content Manager to help manage our broadcast website and its social platforms. The Digital Content Manager is a key member of our newsroom. We are looking for an aggressive leader who will assert a voice across all parts of the newsroom, representing all things digital at all times. We are looking for someone who will think big and act urgently, a leader who is comfortable coaching. WVVA is committed to strong journalism and community service. We are looking for a leader, a coach, and a hands-on social media expert to help us go to new heights.

Duties/Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Work closely with management on strategic vision for the digital department and platforms including all social media and other digital platforms.
• Expand our innovative digital and social media content.
• Analyze data/analytics to improve station success on all platforms.
• Contribute to digital content by writing web stories daily.
• Develop daily digital coverage and special content plans.
• Training new employees on digital processes and expectations of digital platforms.
• Provide valuable feedback and have a willingness to work in a team environment.

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in social media/journalism or related field is preferred.
• Television news experience or experience in the digital field is a plus.
• High level of understanding of journalism ethics.
• Knowledge of AP Style preferred.
• Strong understanding of social media strategy.
• Adapt to fast breaking news situations and thrive in deadline driven environment.
• Ability to adjust and excel while working a flexible schedule.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Must have valid drivers license and pass a drivers record check.
