Job Summary/Description:

Your Hometown News Leader is looking to hire a dynamic, experienced journalist to lead our weekend team as an Anchor and contribute to our leading newscast during weekdays. This position is ideal for a dynamic reporter looking for a new challenge and leadership experience. This position centers on delivering compelling stories to communities in Alabama, Georgia, and Florida, but it also comes with unique opportunities to grow as an anchor, team leader, and journalist. This is not an entry level position.

Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Developing and executing unique content daily, in collaboration with newsroom management.
- This person must be creative, energetic, competitive, and a problem-solver with strong communication and reporting skills.
- The ideal candidate demonstrates compelling storytelling, photography, and videography skills that go beyond press release.
- Can quickly confirm and send out rapidly developing stories on air and online.
- We are looking for someone who is both a team player and a solo star.
- Fill-in weekday anchoring will be required at times

Qualifications/Requirements:
• A degree in journalism or a related field is preferred. We are looking for someone to join the team, hit the ground running, and lead by example. Strong, demonstrated news judgment is key to success in this role.
