Job Summary/Description:

An Assistant Chief Engineer at WTVY-WRGX is surrounded by an experienced team of professionals who design, maintain, and repair the technology and systems that keep our content flowing to the area's #1 local media audience. Bring your love of learning and problem-solving to assist us with the maintenance and operation of the station's broadcast facilities, vehicles and equipment.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Keep the station's broadcasting equipment maintained, responding to and correcting technical issues that arise.
- Research needed equipment and configurations to accomplish continued outstanding broadcast operations.
- Repair or supervise the repair of station building components such as lighting, HVAC and more.
- Keep the wiring diagrams updated and the wiring labeled.
- Work to keep the station compliant with FCC directives including EAS Chief operators log, tower light system inspections, transmission system calibration checks, closed captioning verification and logging, and CALM compliance verification.
- Be part of an on-call rotation for engineering department.
- Planning set up and breakdown of live remote news broadcasts or event coverage will be a large part of the job focus.
- Work with the IT Manager and know how to supervise the operation of the IT plant at the station.

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Experienced in the following areas: broadcast television production, facility maintenance, video camera, drone operation, satellite reception, generators, power systems, video servers, video switchers, video processing equipment. ATSC encoding and encoders, audio processing including CALM compliance. This job requires good interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written, and must be fully computer literate. Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks based on station needs. Ability to work unsupervised. Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds, with occasional work on ladders. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license in good standing. Be available to work within an on-call schedule. Able to obtain a drone operator's license within 90 days of start of employment.
