About WTVM: WTVM-TV became the first television station on the air in Columbus, Georgia on October 6, 1953. WTVM continues to be the News Leader in the Columbus television market. With a staff of 40+ news professionals, we broadcast more than on WTVM, WXTX, the area's FOX affiliate.

Job Summary/Description:

The candidate should have a working knowledge of a production switcher, CGs, video servers, audio and studio equipment, and work under tight deadlines. Directors are expected to contribute to a newsroom culture that merges news gathering with production operations. This position also requires candidates to have great communication skills.

The primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Leading the production staff during live newscasts
• Working alongside producers to create dynamic newscasts
• Directing and live switching newscasts
• An aptitude for cameras, computers and the ability to multi-task is required
• Would also work in other areas of production when needed, including but not limited to; graphic operation (Ross Xpression),floor directing and audio engineering

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in journalism or related field required
• A proven ability to work well with others in a fast paced environment
• A basic understanding of computer networks
• Must be able to think quickly and work under pressure
