Local Sales Manager

Are you a dynamic sales leader ready to drive growth for local businesses through innovative advertising solutions? As the Local Sales Manager at WRTV in Indianapolis, you'll lead a talented team in delivering multi-platform advertising strategies that help our clients connect with their customers across broadcast television, OTT video, search, social media, digital display, and more.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Organize, direct and manage the performance of a team of local sales Account Executives
• Collaborate with the Director of Sales and other departments to accomplish station objectives
• Negotiate ratings, rates and budgets to maximize revenue
• Develop new business utilizing all station platforms including broadcast, digital and mobile
• Coach Account Executives on the Scripps Sales Process (SSP) and build effective sales strategies
• Train, develop and motivate the local sales team to achieve revenue goals
• Foster career growth and development within your team to build a talent pipeline
• Maintain positive relationships with outside vendors
• Interface with traffic systems to ensure efficient management of airtime inventory
• Oversee accounts receivable and credit policies
• Develop pricing and packaging strategies that meet both client and station needs
• Position the station effectively against competing advertising options
• Forecast sales revenue and manage department expenses to achieve financial goals
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
• Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent experience preferred
• Generally, 7+ years proven success in media sales
• Experience in agency and direct strategic account management, broadcast inventory and digital/video capabilities
• Driving required. Valid Driver's License, good driving record, and ability to provide proof of insurance with the company required insurance limits
