Job Summary/Description:

WOWT has an immediate opening for an experienced News Anchor for our weekend evening newscasts. The ideal candidate has a passion for broadcast journalism and will deliver the news in an engaging, energetic manner. This candidate will also reporter during the week. WOWT is looking for a candidate who will make a positive contribution in the newsroom and community as a whole.

Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-- On-air delivery of news
-- Preparation of material for delivery of newscasts
-- Developing and reporting stories
-- Heavy social engagement with viewers
-- Posting stories to website
-- Public appearances on behalf of station
--other duties as assigned
-- Co-anchor weekend evening newscasts
-- On-air delivery of news
-- Preparation of material for delivery of newscasts
-- Developing and reporting local news stories
-- Shooting and editing video
--Finding and reporting stores that target our key/core viewers
-- Heavy social engagement with viewers
-- Posting stories to website
-- Public appearances on behalf of station
--other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:
-- Bachelor's degree in communication, journalism or related field
-- At least 2 years' experience as a news anchor
-- Must have solid people skills and be able to function in a ''team'' environment.
-- Ability to operate under constant deadline pressure.
-- Ability to deliver news content in clear and professional manner
-- Strong writing skills and ability to write accurately and creatively under constant deadline pressure.
