Job Description
WOOD-TV, WOTV and WXSP-TV is looking for a standout Morning Co-Anchor who can deliver everything from hard news to features, who can handle breaking news, live guests and ad lib situations. Someone that brings enterprise ideas, is a great storyteller, has a strong on-air presence, big energy, and embraces social media and digital content. You must be curious and competitive. You must be reliable, have a great attitude, and be a team player who collaborates with the News Manager and Producers. Community involvement required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Three hours of morning newscasts and cut-ins, including oversight on story selection, content, and production.
• Presents news stories and writes content for the website and other digital platforms daily.
• Ensures that all news content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.
• Writes and delivers news stories in a clear and concise manner
• May produce daily news story, including packages and live shots as assigned.
• Responds to breaking news and other urgent newsrooms situations as required.
• Participates in morning editorial meeting
• Participates in promotional activities and makes regular community and public appearances
• Interacts with viewers/users on social media sites
• Researches and analyzes background information related to news stories in order to be able to provide complete and accurate information
• Build network of sources who supply information that allows the Company to stay ahead of its competitors
• Discusses issues with producers and/or news managers to establish priorities or positions
• Performs special projects and other duties as assigned

Requirements & Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
• Minimum five years' experience in news anchoring and reporting preferred
• Excellent news judgment with an expansive knowledge of local and national current events, history, news makers and issues
• Is a newsroom leader who collaborates with news managers and producers
• Proficient on social media
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to effectively listen to fully understand problems and communicate with a team to shape a solution
• Superior on-air presence
• Fluency in English
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record
