Job Description
Wondery is looking for a Principal Account Executive to support our rapidly growing business, reporting to the Head of Podcast Ad Revenue of Wondery. This is an exciting time to join a fast-growing company in an emerging new media space and in a role with broad scope and the potential to make a real impact. This person will work closely with the Head of Podcast Ad Revenue and other Wondery team members to establish Wondery as the leading global podcast ad network. This role is a critical member of the Sales Team, focused on using data to make decisions that will help us scale, achieve operational efficiency, optimize margins, recruit, onboard and train new Account Executives and Account Managers, and strive for operational excellence and customer-driven innovation in a global growth environment.
The ideal candidate will have previously held a similar role in a quickly scaling sales organization, ideally at a media entertainment company or digital brand, and have a passion for selling advertising solutions to the Fortune 500 C-Level and their ad agencies to successfully grow and scale the team's category's domestic revenues. With their broad and long-standing client-side and agency relationships within the digital audio space, and consultative approach and deep understanding of the podcasting landscape, they will act as a strategic partner to their assigned clients and agencies to ensure that their business goals are met.

Key job responsibilities
• Owns key performance-based client and agency relationships and builds accounts by establishing trust and ensuring the delivery of high-quality work
• Leads calls and meetings to uncover needs, provide updates, negotiate contracts, and receive project feedback
• Continually develop quality and quantity of opportunities needed to achieve territory goals, providing regular funnel activity/updates
• Achieve monthly KPIs including, but not limited to pre-determined number of face-to -face customer presentations, quotes and wins
• Supports the gathering of any required assets, documentation, and data from clients and other sources
• Manages client projects from beginning to end and works with internal teams on timelines, internal and external communication, resources, and deliverables; delivers project timelines to clients and proactively keeps documentation and project management software updated
• Successfully maximize revenue through rate negotiation and have a complete understanding of Wondery's inventory conditions
• Remain up to date with client strategies and campaigns
• Remain current with competitive networks and the overall Direct Response marketplace
• Attend client functions, industry events and travel to key markets.
• Creates quotes and proposals for new projects; Builds project budgets and statements of work
• Cultivates and seeks new opportunities within current clients and agencies; prospects new clients and assists in the creation and delivery of pitches
• Reviews all assigned work to ensure quality control and the achievement of the finalized goal
• Manages project finances ensuring accountant has all necessary information for billing and invoicing

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 10+ years experience in media sales with a focus on selling and building relationships with performance-based clients and agencies.
• Experience with the direct response sales process – i.e.) knowledge of lower funnel conversion metrics
• Experience with in revenue operations, sales enablement, sales operations, sales development, customer success, partnership management, strategic planning, and project management
• Experience with negotiation and relationship building skills with sales teams (and ideally with content creators, agencies and brands)
• Established relationships with senior decision makers at the agency and client level
• Prior knowledge and or experience solving problems in an analytical environment; ability to craft and leverage data and
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• C-Level Sales Experience
• Experience selling through large scale performance-based campaigns as well as growing initial test campaigns into large annual investments
• Able to effectively balance performance-driven negotiations with the needs and objectives of the broader organization
• Podcast & Video Experience
• Demonstrated ability to perform well in a highly dynamic, rapidly changing environment.
• Organizational, interpersonal, as well as written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and with a wide range of employees with different skill sets.
• Able to utilize Sales CRM tools such as Salesforce or like program
• A successful track record in building, tracking, and optimizing performance-based multi-million-dollar ad campaigns in order to deliver positive results for the client.
• Experience managing and developing team members to enable them to become more effective and take on more significant responsibilities

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $108,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
