Chief Photographer

Job Description

WOAI/KABB is looking for a new leader for our talented photography staff. Our Chief Photographer will lead a team of talented and eager photojournalists.

The Chief Photographer will:
• Be tasked with meeting the needs of our daily photojournalists
• Hiring experienced staff and train current staff
• Keep staff up to date on the latest technology being used in our newsroom, as well as monitoring their individual growth and needs
• The Chief Photographer will handle evaluating employees work and progress
• Schedule staff for all shifts
• Shoot and edit with a reporter on his/her own regularly, and facilitate live shots for live newscasts

Qualifications:
• At least 4-5 years of shooting experience and technical knowledge of editing and photo equipment
• Degree in Journalism, Photography or a related field preferred
• Team-player who can produce good stories under tight deadlines
• Must have valid driver's license, good driving record and be able to operate ENG news vehicles
• Ability to edit and shoot general assignment stories, lives shots and natural sound packages
• Must be able to lift and carry between 25 and 50 pounds on a regular basis
