Job Description
WLWT, the Hearst Television owned NBC affiliate in Cincinnati, has a rare opening for a Chief Videographer who wants to lead our talented team of photojournalists to even greater heights. We are seeking a Chief Videographer with the ability to capture the essence of what's happening in the field, and then bring it vividly onto the screens of our viewers. Exceptional organization, motivation and the ability to train photographers new skills are critical. Our Chief Videographer is an integral part of our management team and is a key player in live event coverage. Our photojournalists team up with reporters each day to create memorable stories.

Job Responsibilities:
• Trains, manages, evaluates and develops a team of photographers.
• Shooting and editing of VOs, VO-SOTS and packages for Broadcast Air and On-line postings.
• A team leader who ensures our look and sound are the best in the market.
• Working with reporters and producers to make sure we're gathering the best content and facts.
• Serves as the technical and visual leader of the newsroom, collaborates with other news management, Engineering and Creative Services to plan and execute live event coverage
• Coordinates photographer schedules to provide excellent coverage on all shifts
• In charge of recruiting and training the best photojournalists.
• Routinely trains and evaluates all photojournalists and editors on existing and new techniques.

Experience Requirements:
• Prior management experience preferred.
• Previous newsroom experience required.
• Union contract experience/knowledge preferred.

Qualifications Requirements:
• Expert in shooting and camera operation, can seamlessly execute active live shots.
• Excellent managerial skills.
• Proficiency in nonlinear editing systems, including Adobe Premier Pro, Avid and Final Cut Pro.
• Can easily carry up to 50 pounds of equipment.
• Efficient operation on TVU and microwave technology.
• Knowledge of satellite truck operations.
• Can work in all weather conditions.
• Drone pilot license preferred.

Education:
• Related experience and/or training considered as well as a combination of education and experience.
