Job Summary/Description:
WLOX.com is ready to hire its next Digital Content Producer. We need someone to produce engaging content for our digital and social platforms. That individual must have a knack for news and know how to speak the social media language. This position is for someone who understands how to protect the WLOX News brand while getting us more clicks. You must showcase creativity while developing accurate, original content. If you are a top-notch digital journalist who can write an AP-style news story for the web quickly and without errors, apply right now. What makes this opportunity unique is this producer may also step in front of the OTT desk camera and provide quick, informative digital updates to supplement written copy.
Primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Develop story ideas
* Build an array of sources
* Cover breaking news on our OTT digital desk
* Know how the stories on all digital platforms impact viewers and the community
* Adjust on the fly when breaking news changes our coverage plans
* Be able to have enlightening conversations with people who visit WLOX.com and station's social media platforms
* Be a leader in the newsroom
* Be able to work long hours covering breaking news online, including holidays and weekends
Qualifications/Requirements:
This position requires applicable college degree and at least one year experience at a broadcast station. Also requires a clean driving record, proof of insurability and a valid driver's license.
