WLNS-TV, the top-rated CBS affiliate in Lansing, Michigan, is looking for a Digital Content Manager to take wlns.com to the next level. The Digital Content Manager will have several main responsibilities:
• Manage all aspects of content on wlns.com and help create and manage a ''Digital First'' culture
• Oversee wlns.com by writing news, uploading video, managing our social media efforts, and ensuring all members of the news team contribute to our digital product
• Manage a digital staff that will not just update the web and social, but produce daily webcasts and host live event coverage on our livestream channel as well as edit content for the channel when there's no live presence.

The Digital Content Manager should:

Demonstrate solid news judgment and have the ability to write news stories for the website (in a timely fashion)

Demonstrate ability to write and produce a broadcast/digital newscast

Demonstrate ability to shoot and edit digital video for a broadcast/digital newscast

Demonstrate ability to manage remote interview software and integrating it into digital newscast

Demonstrate fluency on Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop

Demonstrate fluency on Wordpress; preferably Wordpress VIP

Demonstrate ability to work with HTML

Understand RSS, SEO, FTP, and have an understanding of CMS

Use metrics to play to strengths, shore up weaknesses, and drive traffic

Demonstrate ability to manage messaging across social media platforms and understand how to create engaging content

Demonstrate ability to learn and implement new software programs

Demonstrate strong time, deadline and multiple project management skills

Embrace journalistic ethics and have strong understanding of copyright/broadcast law

Experience working with a team of creative digital journalists

Demonstrate strong leadership in newsroom team building and achieving staff buy-in to goals

Ability to work within a corporate structure

A degree in journalism or a related field is required. Newsroom experience is preferred. Experience with TriCaster is a bonus. While they will work primarily with news, the Digital Director will also work with sales, production, and promotions.
