Job Summary/Description:

WLBT in Jackson, MS is looking for a Managing Editor to lead the daily content gathering of the state's number one newsroom. This person will manage assignments, provide editorial guidance in the construction of our stories and execute the plan on all platforms. This position is for a newsroom leader who can win each day by delivering engaging, relevant content. If you can lead, motivate and coach we would love to have you join us here at WLBT!

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Oversee daily assignments and news gathering operations
- Be a conduit of information between crews in the field and digital and newscast producers
- Guide and direct winning breaking news coverage
- Oversee the editorial construction of stories

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Experience in leading newsroom newsgathering
- Familiarity with civic and legal processes
- College degree in journalism, communications related field or equivalent work experience in a television or digital newsroom
