Job Description
We are WKRC-TV/Local 12. We are the number one station in Cincinnati. We are looking for a weeknight Meteorologist to join our Weather Authority Team. You will be responsible for the content of the weather cast on-air and on our digital platforms. You will pass along warnings and alerts to our viewers, produce graphics and maps, and report live from the field during big weather events. You must be able to utilize social media during severe weather, as well as write weather stories for our digital platforms. Duties include accurate forecasting, producing, and then presenting clear and concise weather casts using unique content and graphics for on-air. Those weather segments should tell a compelling story and connect with viewers. You'll have a great set of tools at your disposal, including our network of weather stations and cameras along with The Weather Company's Max Reality. In fact, we use more augmented reality weather graphics than anyone in town. We also fly our drone for weather more than any other station in Cincinnati. As you would expect in 2022, digital and social media are a big part of the job. You will also get the chance to show off your live skills and love for the weather by reporting outside during big weather events. The Meteorologist will work with the Chief Meteorologist and News Director to determine the format of various weather graphics and segments.

Required Skills
• The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator with a professional on-air presence.
• We are looking for a candidate with a strong science and graphics background.
• They should be able to clearly explain the weather story, utilizing unique graphics and video in a way that helps our audience better understand and prepare for various weather conditions.

Required Experience
• A Bachelor's degree in meteorology, atmospheric science, or other relevant science degree is required;
• AMS/CBM seal or the ability to obtain one is strongly desired;
• Experience with The Weather Company Max ecosystem, including Max Reality and Max Storm software preferred;
• Ability to participate in community outreach initiatives required;
• Previous on-air experience presenting weather and news information is required.
