WHAM-TV/WUHF-TV has an immediate opening for a full-time News Operations Manager!

The News Operations Manager will supervise and direct news photographers, video editors and production personnel including directors, control room and studio crews.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
• Coordinate and plan with news department on breaking news and special event logistics including town halls, elections and special reports
• Manages and maintains fleet vehicles, including ENG and SNG trucks and other station vehicles
• Establishes procedures to ensure all equipment is operational, maintained and secure
• Work cross-departmentally in scheduling production personnel to meet daily and special coverage needs
• Recruits and hires for production positions
• Oversees training for news photographers, MMJ's, and Editors
• Trains employees in the use of news gathering equipment, live technology, and other newsroom equipment such as edit suites, video storage system, video sharing site
• Work with news director and engineers in purchasing necessary equipment and supplies
• Monitors broadcasts to ensure that programs conform to station quality standards, policies and regulations, and recommends improvements as needed
• Maintaining or troubleshooting cameras, computers in live trucks, video and/or audio switching equipment, processing and monitoring equipment, microwave transmitters and receivers, satellite transmitters and receivers, and TVU backpacks, laptops, etc.
• Working knowledge of various news-related systems including AVID, iNews, Zoom, Skype, Masstech, LiveU, Pacer, etc.
• Process archive and subpoena video requests as well as managing the archives

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Strong, proven leadership skills
• Five years broadcast experience and a college degree preferred
• Knowledge of broadcast journalism ethics and legal standards
• Ability to work well with others fostering a culture of creativity, positive can-do attitudes, and mutual respect
• Valid driver license
• Must be able to lift 5-10 lbs.
• Hours: Must be available to work all shifts as needed including evenings, early mornings, overnights, weekends, and holidays
