Named 2021 Station of the year by the Massachusetts Broadcasters Association, Western Mass News is a licensed television station in Springfield, Massachusetts, and serves the Pioneer Valley. The networks of Western Mass News include ABC 40, Fox 6 and CBS 3.
Job Summary/Description:
The editor edits video of various news events and is responsible for capturing the visuals of news stories and editing all forms of media for daily news broadcasts, continuous news platforms and other special projects, as needed. This position may also shoot stories in a compelling and brand-focused way to attract the largest audience available to the station's newscasts. The ideal candidate should be familiar with the latest editing tools, and able to enhance our stories with creative use of graphics, photos and other images

- Ability to maintain professional and ethical conduct at the station and in the community
- Ability to maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving in a collaborative manner with co-workers, supervisors and viewers
Qualifications/Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications or a related field, or equivalent training and/or experience. Journalism degree is a plus, but we also welcome current students.
Experience: Prior experience with non-linear editing preferred.
