Job Summary/Description:

WCJB, the dominant ABC affiliate in Gainesville, Fla. is seeking a Digital Producer to join our team. The right candidate will love local news, have a positive attitude, and a hard work ethic, excel at writing for all platforms – including digital, social media, and broadcast – and be a team player. Must be proficient in AP style and understand social media platforms and OTT/CTV devices well. This position also requires video editing knowledge. Applicant should also bring professionalism and enthusiasm into the workplace.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Write and post news content and video for all WCJB digital and social media platforms
- Assist with calling and confirming information for news on all platforms
- Assist reporters and anchors with composing their digital stories when needed
- Work with Digital EP on sending push alerts on breaking news
- Post and then update developing stories online as more details become known
- Help other producers with their newscasts
- Fill in on producing for broadcast newscasts when needed
- Help edit video for digital, social, or broadcast platforms
- Create daily content for our digital news desk
- Assist anchors with streaming news from our digital news desk
- Help with podcasts and other digital special projects when needed
- Edit video for digital, social, or broadcast platforms
- Help with podcasts and other digital special projects

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Previous producing experience in television broadcasting is preferred
- A college degree in journalism or related field is required
- MVR check required
- Must work individually as well as part of a team; requires work with many personalities
- This position requires someone who can exercise discretion, and best judgment and has solid journalistic/ethical skills
- Must have strong organizational skills
- Must be extremely flexible to work different shifts throughout the year
