Job Summary/Description:
WBTV is looking for a journalist to anchor breaking news and weather coverage from our WBTV News Now desk and to go live on our website, app, streaming channel, and social media. The ideal candidate is an innovative newsroom leader that will champion our growing multiplatform audience. WBTV is seeking out a self-starter with the ability to produce live, impactful content. The livestream anchor/reporter will work to gather and analyze information, schedule interviews, and set up shoots on various locations in order to produce unique content that is informative and relevant to our viewers on WBTV's streaming app and social media platforms.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Produce, present, and technically direct your own content daily from our state-of-the-art streaming desk using video, live cameras, graphics, and social media.
- Juggle multiple projects in a deadline driven newsroom while maintaining a calm and controlled presentation for on-air delivery.
- Generate stories and confirm information quickly that will provide content and depth to our daily reporting.
- Be able to respond quickly and aggressively to breaking news and communicate it well without a script
- Schedule and conduct interviews live from the WBTV News Now desk
- Shoot and edit video for multiple formats
- Perform other job duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
- A college degree in journalism, broadcasting, or related field
- At least two years of experience reporting or anchoring
- Dynamic presence in reporting live, online and on air
- Able to present stories with solid vocal delivery, clarity and clear enunciation, ad lib, and write in a clear, concise, and conversational manner
- Experience with ENPS, BitCentral, Edius, social media, and digital content management platforms
