Job Description
WBIR-TV is looking for a highly motivated Production Assistant to join our Technical team. This position requires a strong ability to multi-task, excellent communications skills, and an ability to quickly adapt to the production requirements for each newscast or live/recorded program. The Production Assistant executes a live/recorded show rundown, manages studio preparedness, and is a vital part of a team who supports television/digital broadcasts.

Responsibilities:
• Fully engaged with live/recorded newscasts and studio/remote productions.
• Manage the studio environment to ensure the proper functioning of studio lighting equipment, props, sets, cameras, microphones, and set functions.
• Re-position and/or troubleshoot robotic studio cameras and manually operated cameras as instructed by control room personnel.
• Act as floor manager (cueing and directing talent), arrange/move set pieces and props, organize scripts/rundowns, or other related duties as assigned by control room personnel.
• Maintain studio preparedness, organization, and cleanliness.
• Set up and operate related equipment in an outdoor or remote setting as directed by control room or remote personnel.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Requirements:
• College degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Experience is not required, but education and/or internship in television or a related field is preferred.
• Flexibility to work various schedules as required including mornings, evenings, holidays, weekends, and during times of inclement weather.
• Must be able to work quickly and efficiently in a deadline driven environment.
• Reliable transportation.
• Multi-media computer experience.
• Strong oral/written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Good hand/eye coordination.
• Must be able to hear/respond to verbal instructions and will use headsets to communicate during show production.
• Ability to lift 40lbs.
• Position requires climbing ladders and accessing raised platforms.
• Primary work environment is in a studio setting, but there will be times that work will take place at alternate locations and/or outside conditions.
• Training will be provided.

Travel: Rarely: less than 10%

Work Environment Set: Office: normally performed in a typical interior/office environment

Physical Demands Set: Medium work: Involves standing prolong hours, stooping, bending, lifting/pushing up to 25 lbs.
