The Job
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Inc. seeks a Sr. Manager, FP&A for the GF WBGames Home Office Finance department. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is a fast growing, dynamic business focused on meeting challenging financial goals in the video game space. The Sr Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis is part of the Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment financial planning team which is responsible for budgeting, forecasting and business decision support for the division. The position reports directly to the Executive Director, Financial Planning & Analysis.
The Daily
• Effectively manage direct report to accomplish functional objectives, encourage teamwork, and motivate to exceed expectations
• Prepare and maintain by-title ultimate P&Ls supporting the forecasting and the games costing process, provide corporate reporting deliverables, and maintain the Ultimates database
• (1) Prepare, analyze, and report P&Ls in support of the division's green light process, and (2) evaluate and prepare financial models for new distribution and publishing opportunities by working closely with the finance, sales planning, brand marketing, production, legal and new business development teams.
• Lead Console Games Business forecasting/LRP process – develop, prepare, manage, analyze, and report by title forecasts relating to Global Digital Games Revenue and the Domestic Physical Distribution (including Marketing) line of business; submit data to the planning system and validate data accuracy.
• Manage monthly price protection reserves for US/Canada, as well as tracking actual performance
• Manage monthly revenue and cost accruals, and quarter-end performance pacing
• Manage quarterly slow-moving inventory reserves for US/Canada console titles
• Manage Domestic/Canada senior management forecast reporting deliverables
• Perform ad-hoc business decision support analyses and projects
The Essentials
• Minimum 7 years relevant work experience
• US GAAP
• Experience in monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes within a large public company
• Experience in budgeting, general accounting, financial analysis, consolidations, supervision, and management
• Industry experience in entertainment/media, (Gaming preferred).
• Project Management and/or Business Modeling experience, a plus
• B.A. or B.S. degree required.
• C.P.A and/or MBA preferred.
• Must be proficient with finance/accounting concepts
• Technical activities will include accessing the mainframe and SAP systems and utilizing various software packages to provide, retrieve, update, and analyze financial data. Software includes, but is not limited to:
• MS Excel (proficient in using advanced macros and pivot tables)
• MS Word
• MS Access
• SAP/Business Warehouse (required)
• Familiarity with Hyperion Essbase desired
