Senior Finance Analyst

Job Description

The Senior Financial Analyst reports to the Senior Finance Manager at Playdemic, a division of WB Games Inc.; together the roles provide the Finance function of a growing, highly innovative company among the vanguard of Warner Bros new media businesses. This person will collaborate with a wide variety of stakeholders at all levels, including executive management of the studio, Warner corporate functions elsewhere in the UK, and Warner Bros senior finance management in the US.

Key responsibilities will include essential month end accounting and financial planning work, and ownership of the accounts payable ledger, ensuring that all invoices are approved and paid on time.

Job Responsibilities:
• Own the posting of all monthly In-App Purchase and advertising sales, the month end revenue accrual process and reconciliation of sales to cash and the Playdemic PoS model.
• Own the monthly accounting close process for Playdemic, posting and reconciling month end close journals including accruals, prepayments, payroll and overhead allocations to games.
• Monthly expenses review to ensure costs are line with forecast.
• Preparation of month end management accounts including explanations of variance to forecast and KPIs.
• Raise POs and set up new vendors and customers as required.
• Own the Playdemic vendor list and work with the WB accounts payable team to ensure invoices are paid on time
• Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
• In collaboration with development, publishing, marketing and corporate groups, prepare and analyse the game project budgets and forecasts, including revenue and costs.
• Prepare and analyse the overall studio budget and forecasts.
• Perform under pressure to meet challenging deadlines.
• Apply initiative and analytical insights to improve routine processes.

JOB QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Work Experience
• Demonstrable experience of general accounting and a proven track record of financial planning experience, in positions of progressive responsibility.
• Experience working in a corporate shared services environment is desirable.

Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification
• Qualified accountant with a strong academic track record and appropriate post-qualification experience.

Knowledge/Skills
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
• Must be able to multi-task, work under tight time constraints and meet deadlines.
• Must have excellent attention to detail.
• Must have superior computer and analytical skills.
• Must have advanced knowledge of SAP , BW reports and MS office suite of applications.
• Must have proficient knowledge of G.A.A.P.
