Advanced Dev Ops Engineer (Remote)

The Job

The Advanced DevOps Engineer at Engineering & Technology Services group will support WB Games IT group and San Francisco Engineering group. The Advanced DevOps Engineer's responsibilities spans security compliance related tasks to player facing games. For the tasks for the central IT group, you will be required to have excellent communication skills to collaborate with remote co-workers in different time zones. For the tasks for San Francisco Engineering group, you will be required to have excellent site reliability skills to manage end user facing game systems and game client build farms.

The Daily

You will work on monitoring, logging, automation, build and release, CICD, writing utilities, and security compliance related tasks. The environment is AWS, Perforce, Github, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
Our main tools are Slack, Jira, Confluence, Pagerduty, Datadog and Cloudhealth.
• Platform system / feature design & implementation / Library & Service integration.
• Configuration Management/Continuous Integration.
• System reliability and maintenance.
• Performance target setting / performance optimization.
• Requirements Gathering / Documentation.

Review the work of other Engineers to ensure adherence to design, patterns and coding standards.

The Essentials
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent industry experience and success.
• 5+ years of cloud infrastructure experience, preferably in the games industry.
• 7+ years of devops experience, preferably in the games industry.
• Shipped at least 1 mobile/social title, preferably on multiple platforms.
• Experience design cloud systems and remote platforms where data and files can be stored and accessed.
• Experience automating and streamlining development tasks, game products and services.
• Experience with compliance and security.
• Proficiency in unix/linux system administration.
• Proficiency with common scripting languages.
• Expert knowledge and extensive experience with Cloud computing technologies.
• Extensive experience with Configuration management tools and principles, such as Chef, Puppet, Terraform or Ansible.
• Extensive experience with self-testing to minimize and fix issues.
• Documentation / Presentation skills.
• Strong performance optimization experience.
• Strong problem solving / debugging skills.
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Ability to assist others in their work.
• Ability to assess the quality of other engineers' work.
• Experience with AWS, Git and Docker.

The Nice to Haves
• Management experience is a plus.
• Graduate degree in computer science or equivalent preferred.
