WATE-TV6, the ABC affiliate in Knoxville, TN is seeking a Part Time Studio Technician to provide outstanding support to our News and Technical Departments.

This is an entry level position for candidates interested in gaining experience in the broadcasting industry. We are seeking a dynamic Part-time Studio Technician who will be responsible for operating teleprompter during live and taped productions and assists in studio maintenance (cleaning, organization), etc.
• Operation of various broadcast equipment including, but not limited to; teleprompter, graphics software, audio consoles and computers.
• Assist in studio maintenance (cleaning, organization, possibly lighting), etc.
• Assist as production grip on live and tape productions.
• Other duties as directed by the Production Manager.
• Must be able to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Applicants must demonstrate problem solving abilities, creativity, initiative, and a desire to grow within the organization
• Attention to detail is a must in the execution of each of the roles as one of the final gatekeepers before our product is transmitted over the air
• Willingness to learn new and challenging roles
• High School diploma or equivalent required. Two or four-year college degree preferred.
• Previous television station and live newscast production experience a plus.
• Working knowledge of television station production operation equipment including studio cameras, teleprompters, lighting, graphics and audio equipment preferred.
• Must be reliable, dependable, possess a willingness to learn and be able to work a flexible schedule.
• Position involves much studio work and occasional field productions. May include standing for many hours, operating human lift equipment, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, etc.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
