A little bit about our team:

The Business & Legal Affairs department provides global business and legal support to WMX, which provides both artists and labels with a deep, dynamic range of services - covering everything from streaming to merchandise and experiential events to branded content to media sales and beyond.

Your role:

The Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs, will provide day-to-day business and legal affairs services for all business teams within WMX and will be responsible for drafting and negotiating agreements, including technology vendor deals, third party artist merchandising deals, content production and distribution agreements, advertising sales agreements, sponsorship agreements, NFT collaboration deals, licensing deals, and more; advise on and execute business strategy for WMX; and liaise with and provide guidance to other Warner Music Group departments (including Corporate, Business Development and the Warner Music Group Labels) and affiliates.

Here you'll get to:
• Structure, draft, and negotiate contracts relating to artist and fan experiences (including merchandise and experiential events, content production and media sales and technology operations.
• Advise on legal compliance matters, policy, and process.
• Oversee and assist with other special projects as requested by the SVP, Business and Legal Affairs, WMX.
• Ensure compliance with contractual and legal obligations, including the participation in the development and implementation of contract-related policies and procedures.
• Partner to assist with additional related tasks as needed.

About you:
• Refined and well-practiced drafting skills, with a strong attention to detail, and experience creating legal templates;
• Robust negotiation skills (in particular, the ability to manage negotiations with outside counsel, in-house counsel, label heads, and tech startups);
• The ability to work independently with minimal oversight, and to think outside the box;
• Strong interpersonal skills to successfully interface with senior management on day-to-day business regarding legal issues and strategies;
• The proficiency necessary to handle a fast-paced environment while still paying close attention to detail and issue spotting;
• The ability to remember and recall details of multiple projects on request; and
• Strong business decision making skills, and legal acumen.

We'd love it if you also had:
• 9+ years of transactional legal experience in an entertainment company or related law practice. At least 5+ years of law firm experience is strongly preferred.
• Extensive drafting experience.
• J.D. and active license to practice law in California or New York is required.
