Job Title: SVP, Architecture & Engineering

A little bit about our team:

Reporting directly to the WMG Global CIO, the SVP, Architecture & Engineering, will lead architecture strategy, design and development by applying cutting edge engineering and delivery practices. This individual will build, develop, and lead this department. S/he will create a technical vision and roadmap, positioning and preparing the architecture for scalable growth by establishing world-class standards and technical operations. The SVP, Architecture & Engineering will strive to deliver consistent, high-quality products across dispersed, global teams. In addition to help transform the WMG Global Technology organization through shaping of best practices, developing reusable assets, and leading teams.

Here you'll get to:
• Set technical direction (e.g., architecture decisions, frameworks, tech stack, etc.)
• Create a technical vision and roadmap for the company that includes plans for implementation of new technical advancements
• Research, evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies. Design and execute a pro-active strategy to monitor the ''shelf-life'' of existing technologies and third-party components and execute on a clear plan to integrate new technologies
• Evaluate business challenges and work with other technology leaders to arrive at the best-fit technology solution
• Develop and implement policies, standards, and procedures for engineering and technical work performed in the department
• Lead implementation of quality, continuous improvement, problem solving tools and other efficiency improvements to existing processes focusing on speed and quality of code development
• Provide technical expertise and oversight to all ongoing development projects, conduct technical reviews and oversee product qualification/certifications
• Steward delivery and operational excellence across technology solutions
• Manage executive and senior executive-level stakeholder relationships
• Assist with estimating work efforts required for each phase of a project
• Create and facilitate a professional engineering environment
• Transform existing teams of engineers and architects and development managers into a highly effective engineering function, including upgrading and reorganizing our talent as required
• Build a strong sense of accountability among team members
• Support recruiting and onboarding of new employees
• Participate in industry forums, events, and speaking engagements

About you:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree from a four-year college or university
• 10+ years of proven technical experience in a software product development environment
• 5+ years of senior IT Leadership experience, preferably in a global capacity
• Extensive media, entertainment, digital content, or similar, industry experience
• Strong ability to work effectively within a distributed, multi-culture international team
• Ability to achieve results through influence over internal and external staff in both a direct-reporting and matrixed structure
• An experienced engineer and technical wizard, with the know-how to design complex scalable systems
• Proven ability to learn new technologies quickly and apply the knowledge to address business problems
• Proven understanding of general development best practices and the management of software projects
• Ability to think critically and solve problems with well thought-out solutions
• Ability to adapt quickly to changes in environment, priorities, and requirements
• Ability to communicate with executive stakeholders on a business level and translate their needs into a technical solution
• Demonstrated ability to build consensus across a diverse group of stakeholders
• Comfortable working in a fast paced team environment
• Has built a world-class engineering team in a previous position
• Builds the skills of team members through effective mentoring and coaching
• Build and lead effective internal, partner, and vendor teams focused on iterative, scalable, and sustainable solutions

We'd love it if you also had:
• Proven experience in Enterprise Architecture, including the use of Enterprise Architecture frameworks
• Ability to learn and plan paths to new technology
• Practical knowledge of software engineering best practices. Prior ''hands-on'' technical experience is required
• Technical experience with one or more of the following: Akka, AngularJS, Ansible, Cassandra, Cloud Foundry, DBT, Flutter, Github, Java, Kibana, Kubernetes, Logstash, Model-View-Controller patterns, Postgres, Pub/Sub, REST and GraphQL, React, Scala, Snowflake
• Multiple platform development experience (e.g. Cloud, Cloud-native, Containers, Streaming/Event-based, Data and Analytics)
• Working knowledge of Cloud Platforms and Architectures (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Ability to quickly understand how data is used by business processes and what the data means in the context of these specific processes
• Ability to work effectively within cross-functional business and technical teams, as well as proficiencies with Agile methodologie
