Job Title: Sr. Specialist, Data Management

A little bit about our team:

Business Data Management & Operations (BDMO) is part of the Global Data Operations group. The team focuses on creating and maintaining data products and and serves as data subject matter experts (SMEs) at WMG. The role of expert is derived from the nature of mining data from various systems to fulfill business needs and requests. This places BDMO in a unique position to bridge business needs with data, technology, and/or business process solutions. A key role for the team is hosting Data knowledge share sessions with our user communities. BDMO delivers products via both ad hoc and standardized reporting using Tableau, Excel and other reporting tools. We mine various systems to help create structured and useful reporting to support: Business Intelligence, Data Science, Global Commercial, Marketing, and Promotions teams, Finance, and other business units.

Your role:

Reporting to the Vice President of BDMO, you support the department and WMG's initiatives on data management and visualization. Start to finish data management is a key component, as this role focuses on proving business value to data concepts. It is centrally connected to Digital and Social Account Teams, Business Intelligence, and Data Science to understand business challenges and data availability. These concepts are then taken to Technology teams by organizing, planning, modelling, proving, and implementing this data into everyday tools for all WMG employees; with the goal of making intelligent and insightful decisions in the best interest of WMG's artists and partners, often times as Tableau dashboards.

Here you'll get to:
• You will support data exploration efforts by discovering new data sources from partner APIs, and planning enterprise implementation of these data sources to be used by analysts and data visualization developers
• You will work with stakeholders on a variety of ad-hoc projects and reporting where data mining, aggregation, and visualization is a key component
• You will be support Data Literacy initiatives by working across multiple territories & departments to gain a richer understanding of various parts of the music industry and building data visualizations

About you:
• You have degree(s) or background in music/media and data
• You have a basic knowledge of SQL and python languages
• You are very comfortable working with data visualization tools, such as Tableau
• You have excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
• You are detailed, organized and can support various admin tasks
