Job Title: Sr. Manager, M&A and Project Planning, Corporate FP&A

We have transitioned to a hybrid work schedule at this time, allowing our employees to work a combination of in-office and virtual days. These work arrangements will be periodically reviewed based on business needs. We are open to hiring this role in New York or London.

A little bit about the team:

The FP&A department will provide coordination and support for all analysis groups throughout WMG. The department will partner on a wide array of analysis across all divisions including recorded music/music publishing deals (i.e. A&R, Licensing, JV/Profit Share, Administration, M&A/investments), corporate, operating performance/delivery tracking, market/competitive analysis, risk management, strategic opportunities and ad-hoc projects as needed. The successful candidate will improve the consistency, efficiency and accuracy of the acquisition process and deal analysis, including supporting flow of information and insight.

Here you'll get to:
• Develop and maintain plans and communicate status to M&A Deal Team and Operating Leads, including preparation of presentation materials
• Drive the analysis of key financial metrics and aid in the preparation of public messaging around financial performance and data
• Help drive a culture of urgency and on-time, on-budget, on-scope project delivery, with a high degree of quality and stakeholder satisfaction
• Identify and understand project management issues and support project managers to ensure that any challenges get prioritized, addressed and resolved in a timely manner
• Interact with cross-functional groups to ensure progress through to successful conclusion, including coordination between teams
• Provide regular updates to all stakeholders on the project status and progress being made
• Manage changes to timelines to ensure that all impacts and changes are approved and appropriately communicated to stakeholders
• Provide support and financial analysis for acquisition and investment opportunities, including executive summaries and presentations
• Assist in developing financial models and strategic assessments to address key business issues, e.g. evaluation of new business models; key deals and post mortem analyses; market analyses; business and operational planning; valuation of internal assets; ROI analyses of WMG's investments in new businesses and technologies, etc.
• Liaise with financial accounting, tax and treasury to ensure deals maximize investment returns via optimal tax and financing structures
• Assist in approval process of affiliate deals, including preparation and submission of transaction summaries
• Conduct Recorded Music and Music Publishing artist deal analysis on major new signings globally and assist in establishing best practices and optimal deal structures at the affiliate levels
• Liaise affiliates to provide project management support, including conducting analyses and preparing presentation materials
• Track and provide analyses around competition (direct majors and indirect digital, as well as others); issue earnings summaries on competitors and other relevant music/media/tech companies

About you:
• Bachelor's Degree in Project Management, Finance, Economics or Accounting
• 4-7 years' experience in corporat finance, consulting, accounting or project management, with expertise in best-practice techniques and managing large scale projects
• Clear and organized written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Well-developed analytical skills, problem-solving and use of project management tools
• Knowledge of music/media industry strong plus

It would be music to our ears if you also have:
• Understanding of finance and cash flow concepts/principles
• Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
• Ability to identify and solve problems; critical thinking skills
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to communicate with senior level management team
• Self-starter with a strong desire to learn and develop
• Ability to work independently as well as to work as part of a team
• Strong computer skills, including strong data entry skills (with an emphasis on accuracy) and strong proficiency using Microsoft Office's Excel, Word and PowerPoint applications; familiarity with Microsoft Office's Access application is preferred, but not required.
