A little bit about our team:

The Special Packaging team's focus is solely on bespoke physical product releases that require special pricing/handling/planning. Our team works directly with designers, marketing managers, and A&R to brainstorm unique and interesting packaging ideas. After the initial start meeting, a project brief and quote request is sent to various suppliers, and we oversee the R&D process. During this stage the team inspects white samples, reviews quotes, and requests timelines. Ultimately, the goal is to assign a vendor who can best realize the label or artist's vision in a timely manner and within budget. Our team is passionate about music and the way music, art, and structural design can come together to tell a story. We care about quality and materials. We understand the struggles of the manufacturing process, where the pitfalls lay, and how best to avoid them. Our work is vital to having unique, high quality physical product available to the consumer on release date.

Your role:

This role will develop special package for frontline labels, Rhino and Global Catalog, and D2C releases. You will be working directly with designers and printers developing bespoke packaging products for CDs, vinyl, DVDs, Blu-Rays, and even cassettes. You are responsible for finding the right vendor for each job by looking at pricing, timelines, and samples. You communicate deadlines and provide the correct templates based on the final approved sample. You will be part of a team of professionals but will have responsibility for your own projects, handle multiple tasks, and juggle various priorities.

Here you'll get to:
• You will work with the label in coordinating specs for projects.
• You will confirm initial order quantity with Commerce for physical product.
• You will prepare quote requests detailing packaging specifications and request white samples.
• You will compare pricing, samples, and lead times in order to assign the best vendor for the job.
• You will book global vinyl capacity based on space and logistics.
• You will supply cost of product to label personnel to ensure packaging falls within budget and SRP.
• You will work with various print vendors around the globe in setting up projects for manufacture.
• You will liaise with Traffic Managers to provide specs on box sets and other special packaging releases for Bill of Materials.
• You will deliver templates, specs, and deadlines to traffic managers and creative personnel.
• You will follow-up on projects by inspecting final print samples.

About you:
• You have strong attention to detail.
• You have a general knowledge of printing processes and materials.
• You have a minimum of 5 years experience in print production/packaging.
• You have outstanding organizational skills with the ability to prioritize your workload.
• You have the ability to turn last-minute projects around quickly within tight deadlines.
• You have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• You have the ability to focus in a high-stress environment.
• You enjoy being part of team of gifted professionals.

We'd love it if you also had:
• A background in publishing, printing, manufacturing, or graphics arts management.
• A college degree preferred or relevant work experience.
• A working knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop.
