Job Title: Manager, Song Processing
A little bit about our team:
The Warner Chappell Copyright team oversees and processes all newly written, released, recorded by our writers in addition to any new catalogues WCM acquires. We are the point of entry for the assets that make our company the success it is.
Your role:
Oversee the song Processing team in every aspect of catalog management – including but not limited to: song entry, registration, split delivery, submission and confirmations of world wide CWR registrations, adaptation/translations/print and Copyright PA submissions. Reslove counterclaims and disputes, monitor charting titles, dispurse label copy, work closely with A&R, Legal, Contract Administration and Mechanical licensing department to isure songs are collected and paid on.
Here you'll get to:
• Oversee processing of new non-Nashville songs (Schedule A's, Sampled works, Latin titles, new delivered works ) into the Warner Chappell Asset Management system. (TANGO)
• Delegate or process missing data for new signing schedule A's / IPI numbers, co-writer detail, release information
• Request and confirm splits for songs released via Spotify, iTunes, YouTube, major labels and sync licenses
• Oversee/Review/Resolving CWR rejections at domestic societies – HFA/BMI/ASCAP/SESAC/GMR with a focus on charting titles
• Resolving counterclaims with labels to allow Mechanical licensing
• Providing label copy/publishing lines and splits to labels, writers, publishers and
• Correspond with ASCAP and BMI to resolve registration or song issues.
• Provide consultation and support to Mechanical Licensing team on claims, disputes and writer split details.
• Oversee and guide staff in growth, manage performance and goal setting both as a group and as independent team members.
We'd love it if you also had:
• A high school level education to be augmented by course work in business administration, and copyright law
• Three (3) years of relevant experience in business administration, and/or copyright administration, preferably in a music publishing company, at least one (1) year of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity, or
• A satisfactory equivalent of education and experience, sufficient to qualify for the duties of the position.
• An established working relationships with US collection agencies, HFA/MLC/PRO's etc.
